It’s been a while since I wrote about Tulum. I’m still day dreaming about the day I get to visit this bohemian paradise once again. After flipping through some photos from our trip last December, I became very nostalgic, and hungry for some reason. I remember the copious amounts of guacamole I ingested, the fresh charred tacos I ate at a local’s secret spot, and the amazing views I enjoyed every breakfast by the sea. It all inspired me to share a post of some of my favorite restaurants in Tulum. You wont want to miss these spots on your next trip!!
Posada Margherita
What do you get when you combine ocean views and fresh pasta dishes? Posada Margherita. Arguably one of the most popular restaurants in all of Tulum. Ben & I got the chance to visit Posada during our trip and were blown away by their food and hospitality. Posada Margherita is a tranquil, Italian-inspired boutique hotel and restaurant located on the beaches in Tulum, Mexico on the beaches of the Riviera Maya. You can enter from the front of the hotel strip or you can walk up from the beach like we did! Thankfully we got one of he best views in the house right in front of the open windows facing the beach. We sat down on our bench and curled up while one of the owners explained the menu to us. We decided to split their pasta dish and it’s one of the most amazing dishes we enjoyed during our stay.
La Estancia Jujena (in Tulum Town)
Ben & I loved this restaurant so much we went back twice and brought friends. This delightful Arginentian restaurant was situated directly next to our Hotel in the center of Tulum town. The ambiance was breathtaking as we dined by candle light, with beautiful lights lining the canopy, and live music serenading us into the sunset. We sipped cocktails and dined over Beef Wellington and yummy empanadas. Highly recommend the steak here!! Everything about this place is 5 star with great food, quality service, atmosphere, and being one of the few places that accept credit cards. We loved this place so much and recommend it to everyone who visits! I included this in my blog post Tulum’s Most Instagram Worthy Destinations!
La Efuemia
Taqueria La efuemia was a recommendation to us from a airbnb host who knew the owners. Not many travelers know about this local taco joint on Tulum’s beach so I’m here to give you the exclusive deets. La Efuemia is the locals go-to taco joint. As one of the original taco restaurants in Tulum this is the premiere destination for all the locals and the waitstaff to go after their shifts. It soon became so popular by word of mouth that they opened a new destination on the beach. At La Efuemia you will find easy tacos, cheap beer, and amazing views as you dine on the beach overlooking the sea. Truly one of Tulum’s best kept secret.
La Popular at Nomade
Possibly one of the prettiest views I’ve ever seen. The food and the ambiance is unparalled. You can enter through the hotel Nomade or walk up on the beach, but we called ahead and were warned there are typically line and a wait list, hotel guests get first dibs. Their open-air beachfront restaurant is inspired by the distinct flavors and bustling energy of the local fish market. The main menu features fresh, daily catches from local fishermen. I’ve included this one on my blog about Tulum’s Most Instagram Worthy Destinations.
Farm to Table
Farm to Table uses honest, local, seasonal products all sourced from local farms and artisans. They serve authentic Mexican dishes prepared in a fresh modern way. Quench your thirst with one of their fresh smoothies, craft beers, or artisanal mezcals. They even turn our organic waste into compost at our own farm! Such a cute little restaurant to take a mid day break and relax at. Staff was incredibly friendly and gave us great local recommendations! Farm to table is a fan favorite – check out the reviews here!
