Apologies for the late post on this! I wanted to make sure I had the perfect little space before I shared any pictures or recommendations since I have the tendency to change things last minute. Which- in this case- meant adding pillows, plants, and plenty of candles. I began this small project about two month ago when I realized that after two years living in my current apartment – I had nothing on my deck. I stayed away from this space since spiders and other creepy crawlers found a way to make it their home. However, after some scrolling through Pinterest and a new found motivation, I decided to decorate my deck. I found a few bohemian styled balconies on Pinterest that quickly became my inspiration. After that, I searched the internet for benches and patio sets to put on my deck and realized how expensive everything was! I mean – patio furniture is definitely not cheap! Just one bench can cost you between $150-200. So, I searched for a cheaper option and I think after all was said and done – I spent under $250 for my patio items.
The thing I like best about the pallet style bench is it’s versatility. You have the ability to move the pallets around and create different styled seating. You can do a regular bench, a l-shaped bench, a square, or you can separate the pallets and make seating room for four people. The options are endless the more pallets you get.
I purchased eight pallets at Home Depot Online Delivery for $10 each 24in x 24 in. There were no other local options to buy in store, and this was honestly the easier route since they deliver straight to your door. No more dirty car, no more lugging around heavy items.

Next up are the Floor Cushions from World Market $45 each. I realize there are plenty of cheaper alternatives, but I could not resist these cushions. Thankfully I got them on sale for $25!! I sprayed them with some weather guard to ensure the pollen and rain did not damage them.
Jadeite Velvet Tufted Floor Cushion

While I loved the look of this design I couldn’t resist getting ONE more set of pallets and cushions to make this bench into an L-shaped couch or a square “bed” style lounger. As I mentioned before, the options are endless the more you get!

Most of the throw pillows
are from World Market as well. Sign up for their rewards program and receive monthly coupons and stay up to date on their latest sales and offers!
Ivory Fringe Pillow // Macrame Pillow // Golden Yellow Stripe Lumbar Pillow
Palm Plant from Walmart
Gold Side Table from Target. I couldn’t find the link but I’ve linked a few similar options here, here, and here.
The only thing not shown in this photo is the Kerala Jute Rug I snagged from Target. Putting something over the flooring of my deck really made the space feel like an extension of my home.
